Issue No. 3 – Submissions Open!
Deadline: March 13, 2026
For Issue 03, we’re drawn to work that understands flavor as more than a metaphor. We want writing that carries heat, density, and residue. Send us your poems, stories, and hybrid pieces that are seasoned with tension, rich with voice, and brined with memory. It’s free to submit, always.
Mouthful of Salt accepts poetry, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, hybrid work, and visual art. We’re drawn to pieces that are beautifully messy, intimate, nontraditional, and hard to categorize—work that pushes boundaries and invites deep attention. Above all, we seek to uplift voices from marginalized communities.
Please carefully read our submission guidelines, as any submission that does not meet the requirements will not be considered for publication.
Submission Options
You can submit your work via Duosuma free of charge or by email at submissions.mouthfulofsalt@gmail.com. Tips are welcome and go directly toward platform upkeep and, we hope, eventual compensation for our team and contributors.
For those looking for editorial insight, we offer two tiers: a $15 Feedback Tier, which includes a 250–300 word response with light edits; and a $25 Feedback Tier which includes an expedited (within 7 days), more in-depth response with heavier line edits and revision suggestions. Please note that feedback does not guarantee publication. Please visit our Duosuma site for more information.
